Thirty seconds that show what it does. It does not turn on the microphone or ask for any permission.

Tell it the first thing
"What do I have tomorrow?" is a good place to start. The Calendar permission is asked for right there, and not before.
What is worth knowing
Permissions are asked for one at a time
Never all at once when you sign up. Calendar, the first time you ask it for an event. Location "always", only if you create a reminder tied to a place.
iPhone only
Half of what it does is iOS: EventKit, HomeKit, AlarmKit, Photos, Shortcuts, Health. There is no Android version and no web version, and there will not be one while that stays true.
"Hey Nia" is switched on by hand
It is in Settings, under Voice, with its battery warning, and it belongs to the Plus plan. With the app closed nobody listens except Siri: that is an iOS limit, not a decision of ours.
A connection is needed
The model lives on the server. What does work without a network is what runs on the phone: dictation, translating a text and reading a receipt.

Is there an Android or web version?
No. Nia is an iPhone app and half of what it does, meaning EventKit, HomeKit, AlarmKit, PhotoKit, Shortcuts and Health, is iOS. A version that could not touch any of that would not be Nia.
