Terms of use

By downloading and using Nia you accept these terms. They are written to be read once and understood; if anything is unclear, write and it will be cleared up.

These terms describe the service: what Nia does, what each plan includes and how subscriptions work. They come with two further documents that form part of the same agreement: the license agreement, which governs your right to use the application and carries the conditions Apple requires, and the privacy policy, which explains how your data is handled.

1. What the service is

Nia is an iPhone application that interprets requests in natural language and carries out actions on the apps and services of your device and of the accounts you connect voluntarily. It requires iOS 18 or later and an internet connection for the part of the service processed on the server.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Nia. You are responsible for keeping access to it and for the activity carried out from it. You must be at least 14 years old.

3. Plans, limits and subscriptions

Nia offers a free plan and two subscription plans, Plus and Pro, with the limits published on the pricing page. The daily and monthly usage limits are part of the contracted service and may be adjusted with reasonable advance notice inside the app.

• Subscriptions are taken out and charged through your Apple account.
• They renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
• Cancellation and management happen in your Apple account settings, not in Nia.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms.
• When a subscription ends you return to the free plan; your conversations are not deleted because of that, but they become subject to the free plan's retention limits.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Nia to:

• Carry out illegal activities, or generate content that infringes the rights of others.
• Generate images or text impersonating a real person without their permission, or that is sexually explicit involving real people.
• Harass, threaten, defame or send unsolicited communications, including inside groups.
• Attempt to evade the usage limits, automate access to the service or reverse engineer it.
• Enter third party data without a legitimate basis for doing so.

Breaching this may lead to suspension or cancellation of the account. Groups and voice radio carry tools to report, block, mute and remove, and reported content is reviewed. A reported voice notice is kept for thirty days solely for that review.

5. What depends on third parties

Part of what Nia does depends on services we do not control: Apple and its frameworks, Google, WhatsApp, Spotify, Uber, or the server you connect in a skill. If one of them changes, fails or restricts access, the corresponding feature may stop being available. When that happens, Nia will say so rather than pretend the action completed.

In the same way, there are actions iOS does not allow a third party app to complete. They are documented in what iOS will not allow and Nia presents them as what they are: a prepared action that you finish.

6. Generated content

The content you generate with Nia (text, images, video) is yours, to the extent applicable law allows for content created with artificial intelligence systems. You are responsible for how you use it. We claim no rights over your content and do not use it to train models.

The software, the design, the "Nia" trade mark and the materials on this site belong to Nia.

7. No absolute warranties

Nia is an assistant built on a language model and it can get things wrong. Check what it does before taking it as final, especially for decisions with consequences: emails sent, events involving other people, health data or spending. The service is provided "as is" and is not guaranteed to be available without interruption.

Nia is not a medical, legal or financial service, and its answers do not replace professional advice.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by consumer law, which apply in any case.

9. Cancellation

You can stop using Nia and delete your account whenever you want, from Settings, under Account, with "Delete account". We may suspend an account that breaches section 4, with notice unless the breach is serious or requires immediate action.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes are notified inside the app before they take effect, and the date above reflects the latest version.

11. Governing law

Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your own domicile and to use the European Union dispute resolution platforms.
